You might also need to consider cut as part of this.  The normal round cut, brillant, is generally more sparkly, therefore a smaller size might be better if you are afraid of the bling factor.  Emerald cut is a nice rectangle cut, without as many faucets, therefore they aren't as sparkly (still very nice, my personal favorite).  You could get larger ones, but they are more expensive.  Either way, I would suggest staying around 1 carat TW would be a very nice size.</description>
