I am 5′3 and 130 lbs. Am I considered petite? I have a lot of trouble shopping for pants. Always have to have them made shorter.

Well there is not an actual size limit for being considered petite, but I’m pretty sure you qualify. I think petite is when you are under like 5′4″ I think. Well try shopping in petites and it will probably help in the pant lengths. Hope I helped, and happy shopping!

it really depends on your inseam. regular pants in misses sizes ave a 30 inch inseam. petites are 28 or 29 inches.

I would say that it would depend on if the clothes in Petites fit you. I am 5′ 7″ but I wear Petites quite often. The reason is that with pregnancy my spine curved and shortened. Now I am extremely short waisted even though my legs are the same length. I can’t always wear the pants if they are too short, but the jackets, blouses, tops and certain suits are perfect for me. So again, you are a Petite if the clothes fit you.

One option that is sort of out of the box thinking… try the teens and girls sections. I have the opposite problem as you in that I need shorter tops and you need shorter bottoms. I’ve found that teens and girls have some wonderful clothes which fit me, and the good news, they are nearly always cheaper.
