held-up-miss asked:
I’m having issues with dress shopping.
I’m short, & muscular, what style of dress should I wear to my first formal dance?

this would flatter anyone! especially if you have muscular arms!
with these shoes:http://www.target.com/Mossimo-Hailey-Knotted-Strap-Heels/dp/B000IV2EJG/qid=1200883414/ref=br_1_5/601-0329903-0392161?ie=UTF8&node=13654831&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1
to compliment the sparkle in the dress and give you height. also get silver & black jewelry!
or this dress…the halter shows off a muscular back & arms!# [[BLACK ONE!!]]
with these shoes: the red will add color to the simple dress and will make you appear taller & show off muscular legs! Get red jewelry!

I’d aim for something sheathy/strapless, *maybe* a one-shoulder. Avoid thin straps, as they’re made for underweight women to emphasize how terribly underweight they are. Short-/cap-sleeved might work, and long-sleeved is ok, but I for one see no reason to conceal a muscular body on a woman.
I’m not a fan of the body-builder body-type, especially on women, but a healthy, athletic woman with a sane amount of muscle is a relief to see among the hordes of frail, stick-figure women. Be proud of being healthy, and the only dresses to avoid are the “dainty” spaghetti-strap types.
