if your 5'7 you're not petite so probably shouldn't be looking at petite sizes

petite sizes are cut for people who are shorter then average, so a larger size in petite will still be relatively 'wide', they'll just be shorter, so a shorter in-seem, torso, sleeves, etc.

in theory other measurements should vary just like normal sizes do, a person can be over weight or skinny or just average, and still be petite. petite does not equal skinny, if you are very skinny, then you need to find somewhere that stocks very small sizes in non-petites

i'm not sure but potentially there will be a small ratio of legs or arms/torso, since shorter people can tend to be disproportionately shorter in the legs.

petite sizes aren't teenage cuts, they are cut for the same figure are normal sizes, petite women are just as womanly as anyone else.
