Communicating Plus, Petite & Maternity sizes in addition to “regular” sizes?

petite shopping
Lucy asked:

We are launching an online clothing store and one thing that has been really bothering me is how to distinguish between “regular” “plus” and “petite” size clothing. I feel as though it is an insult to distinguish clothing options as “Plus” and I just wanted to know if there is any other way to communicate these options.

So the three options are:
“regular” size
“plus” and “petite”

Is it offensive to say:

Eclothing
Eclothing Plus Shop
Eclothing Petite Shop

So “eclothing” by itself represents the ‘regular’ size and then the other sizes will add “Plus” or “Petite” or “Maternity” to the end of eclothing. I don’t know though, it just sounds offensive to me?! Am I wrong, is Plus & Petite just industry accepted & women accepted terms???

Most people looking for plus sizes will google in “plus”. So no, I don’t think it’s offensive. Good luck with your new clothing shop
