Very good question! Now to try to answer your question ! lol
OK You say you are 5'3 but you never mentioned your weight? Your weight is very important! Your Weight also determines if you are petite or portly? Theres the difference that might help you now what size you are?? example 1. if you are 5'3 & between 100-120lbs I would think you would be considered average! 2. If you are 5'3 & between 120- 140 lbs & above you are getting towards to be considered portly. Now knowing these examples Your height? (Torso, Leg length)? Some people have high torso's and some have short torsos but depending on their body they both could be around the same weight? In other words ( PETITE) in the fasion Industry... is basicly very tiny small light weight person. Like models?? they are very tall very skinny below 120 lbs are they considered petite? Not really! Basicly when an adult is considered petite its usually measured by their weight! not torso or leg length! When shopping in any clothing store & you realize you cant find cant find your size to fit properly in sm womens, small girls clothing? and you have to resort to Childrens dept That I would consider being petite! PS Your only 15 years old Give your self time for as we age your body will change and you may realize you wont have to worry to much about being petite! :) I hope this helps answer your question! Also may I add? that todays designers & clothing manufactures all have a different perspectives on sizing! Example. Have you ever found when shopping that the garment you want that is your size, does not fit right ? The item may be your size but cut to tight or cut to large? It happens all the time in every type of garment today and it goes on & on! even in buying simple jeans! So my advice to you is to forget if your petite or not. When you shop for clothing forget about the size you think you are, and Always try the garment on! Always! A Must! good luck :)

I'm not sure, you may have a petite upper section but long legs. Best to mix and match, they do a petite section and a tall section in new look.

You need to measure your inseam that will tell you what section to get your pants from. If you are really 5'3 you might need petite for the pants meaning you have shortish legs, but have a longer torso which puts you in the tall/regular section for tops.

It may be a case where perhaps your upper body is tall but your legs are petite. Do you have trouble finding pants?
