Advice and Information for Petite Women

What kinds of dresses look good on women with large busts?

dicloniusaura asked:

I have a large bust, small waist, and big hips. My measurements are as follows. They’ve been rounded up to

Bust: 40 in.
Waist: 28 in.
Hips: 40 in.

My bra size is a 36D, and I am a very petite girl. I am only 5′ 2! I would like some help on what dresses would look best on me. If they are conservative, that would be an added bonus. Thanks in advance!

Empire waists work well with large busts, along with colour and pattern, not stripes though.

A bra-friendly dress ensures support, and a voluminous skirt part gives your hips dimension making them appear proprtionate to your bust. So over all balance out your silhoette. Hope this helps! :)

i love dresses with empire waists…just make sure they cover up your cleavage if thats what you want to hide!!

example: ( not emapire waisted but its cute!!)

and if you still want ti more conservative…geta cardigan!!

I am so glad you asked this question! I have the same problem and if I’m not careful, I end up looking heavier than I am.
I like flowing skirts, but nothing with a gathered waist. I like the empire waist idea also.
It seems like a lot of the magazine articles focus on pear or apple figures and leave us out, but we have challenges too!

    Good luck :)
