<a href="http://kansieo.com">Create a video blog...instantly.</a>

If the skirt sits at the waist, you say there is an extra two inches--do you mean two inches across the hips? If so, you will have to take the skirt in at the sides. As for the jacket, it can be lifted at the shoulders, but then that could lead to an extensive collar redesign. If you are adept in needle work, adjustments can be made. Sometimes you can create tucks and place darts to take up the slack. These days, qualified seamstresses are hard to come by and when you are lucky enough to find someone who knows what they are doing and do it well, you may bulk at the cost per hour. People have come to me with their sewing needs and once they know what I charge for needle work, they run. But then, there are those who recognize the value of what they are getting and will pay whatever it takes to have custom fitted clothes. You might just have to put the tags back on the suit and return it. Even if the tags are gone, you might still be able to take it back.

While it may be physically possible to alter this suit to fit you properly, I'd have to ask how much your husband paid for it. The cost of recutting the jacket and skirt may be more than you originally paid for the suit.

It sounds like it is just cut too long for you and unless you want to basically pay for another suit in fees to your tailor, you may want to look for something similar in a size closer to your true size.

I think the work required will be much more than moving the button on the jacket 2 inches. Most likely the cut of the jacket matches to placement of the button. So the jacket would need to be recut.

And the skirt will also need some serious altering from the sounds of it.

If you love it *that* much I guess it would be worth it.

there are many people out there that will alter clothes for you. All you need to do is have a look in a local fabric shop and ask if they know anyone who alters clothes and stuff. i hope this helps.
