The Petite Shopper

Advice and Information for Petite Women

A good brand of women’s jeans for curvy figure (big butt, small waist), without the gap in the back?

paintgirl asked:

I am a petite size, but have a small waist compared to my rear-end. I thought I had discovered something when I heard of Gap curvy, but apparently that’s not curvy enough. I’m sick to death of putting on jeans that fit everywhere, except you can fit your fist in the gap in the back of the waistband. Do I have to get every pair of jeans tailored? Has no one been smart enough to invent this line of clothing? I see women walking around like this all the time……we try to fix the problem with a belt….which only leaves you with this stupid gathered spot in the back. Anyone?

Some jeans have a piece of elastic in the waistband just at the back. The way they are designed, it isn’t quite so bunched up. I used to have a couple pairs and they were comfortable and also fit well.

I think they were Lee jeans but I can’t remember, sorry, I don’t have them anymore.

I think I’m like you. I don’t know how tight you usually go for, but sometimes they are a bit tight (but not like painted on or anything) if you want it to fit in the waist. The best pair of jeans I have, my absolute faves, are l.e.i. They fit really well. Not tight like some jeans or too loose like others and not too tight or too lose in the waist. Great.

J.Lo and beyonce might be able to help with their clothing line, but if thats not good then get them tailored. it might **** doing it, but at least you will feel and look confident in them in the end! go for J.Lo first she sounds like your lucky body type…

I feel your pain, as a jean connoisseur and a curvy girl myself (big hips/booty and a small waist) I’ve researched this issue for a while now. The result…. Diesel Jeans, CK and Seven are the best! Express also has a line of jeans for curvy women and they are pretty cool too, oh and they have great sales on their denim often, I always watch for those. Also, as one of the replies previously stated, its in the name too, because Apple Bottoms and Baby phat can’t be forgotten. Oh, and I’m not so sure about Mossimo from Target, the feel and material don’t seem to be the highest of quality and they can sometimes run small through the hips, the worst thing is a perfect fit in the waist and tight squeeze in the hips. Literally a pain in the….booty! I hope this helps! ( :
