I don’t eat red meat, and nothing deep fried! I consume about 1200 to 1400 calories per day. You have to try to exercise too! I walk for an hour 5 times a week. It ***** but its worth it! Good luck

I’m a few inches shorter than you, and I’ve been told to consume 1200 calories per day. I have no idea what I actually eat, though.

A good rule of thumb to follow for someone who’s somewhat fit (which you definitely sound like with that height/weight) is to multiply your bodyweight by 12 for a ballpark daily caloric intake. I know for myself, as a 6′2 male weighing 200 lbs, 12 x my bodyweight (2400 calories) maintains my weight, so the math works for me.
Another idea is to try to calculate your BMR using an online calculator…BMR is Base Metabolic Rate and is a rough guideline of how many calories your body burns every day just to stay at 98.6 degrees, keep the blood flowing, etc. For exercise 4x a week, you’d probably want to eat a little more than your BMR, like around 1.25 x your BMR. Here’s an online calculator to figure it out quickly:
The only TRUE way to know your maintenance calorie level, by the way, is to guess a daily calorie amount for maintenance, eat *extremely strictly* for an entire week (as in, count every calorie in every food and drink, very precisely) to get as close to that number as possible, and then weigh yourself at the start and then one week later, first thing in the morning before eating/drinking anything both times. If your weight didn’t change, success! If it went up or down, shift things by 100 or 200 calories per day and give it another try.
